The bay of Île de Grâce is one of the most popular spots in the region. At times, dozens of boats can be seen gathered there—for swimming, wildlife observation, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings—all sharing this uniquely scenic area. Access is via the channel near Île aux Corbeaux, making sure to stay centered in the narrow entrance. The water depth is very safe throughout most of the bay. However, if you plan to spend the night, make sure to leave enough line on your anchor, as the bottom of the bay is covered with a thick layer of algae that prevents the anchor from holding firmly. Great blue herons are often seen here in large numbers, fishing among the emergent vegetation along the bay.
